Colheita Ports are some of the great hidden gems of the Douro. Whereas the traditionally more prized Vintage Ports spend only 18 months in oak barrels before bottling, Colheita Tawny ports spend more time in barrel before release, 7 years in fact and also come from a specific vintage. All of this means bags of complexity and the wine is ready to go! From the legendary Niepoort, this is simply awesome, dried cherries, figs, walnuts, caramel all getting stuck in.
