Cape Red Blend 'Wanderer's Heart' 2022, Thorne & Daughters

Thorne & Daughters is a wonderful family winery in the Western Cape of South Africa, found in 2012 by John and Tasha Seccombe with the idea of crafting soulful, delicious wines that feel authentically South African. This is their signature red blend which is based on Southern French varieties - Syrah – 45% , Grenache noir – 33%, Carignan - 13% and Mourvèdre – 9% all from different plots across the Western Cape. 60% of the grapes ferment whole cluster and the rest is destemmed before maturing in old barrels for 12 months. Supple, spicy and with fine, elegant dark cherry fruit, this a delicious, classy red that's super food friendly.
